If you’re like me, a lot of my New Years goals fall by the wayside come February. However, I don’t think the reason is because my goals are too high or unattainable. I believe it’s because just writing them down, while a good first step, is not the full picture in making your goals become a reality.
“Your magnificent life is on the other side of comfort” -Rod Klief
Write down all your goals, big and small on a piece of paper. Include everything you can imagine from what you want to have to how you want to give back in the world. Write without stopping to think about it, instead, free style your dreams into print.
Make it Measurable
Write down a number in years next to each item based on when you want to complete the goal.
Pick a Top Goal
Pick a top goal you want to complete this year and circle it.
Pick Top 3 Goals
Pick your top 3 goals you want to complete this year and circle them.
The fuel that determines whether or not we take action is a reason big enough to get uncomfortable to make our dreams a reality. Write down why you want the goal and write down why you can’t live without it. Your pain list will motivate you when you want to give up.
Example: Goal: Make and post high quality Youtube Videos each week.
My Why: I want to reach as many people as I can with my message.
Not putting myself out there has hurt my business, has kept me playing small, has allowed my fear to control me. If I don’t allow my business to grow, I could end up working on someone else’s dream (as an employee) instead of my own.
Images are powerful. What we think about we bring about so we want to choose what were going to focus on daily. One way to do this that really helps our minds become clear is to have photos up that make us feel good and excited when we look at them. Find photos online or in a magazine and cut them out into a collage of your dreams! Look at them daily and feel yourself already there!

“affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion” -Jim Rhone. What can you do each day to accomplish your dreams? Pick a time each day to take steps toward each one of your goals and not only will you be closer to your dreams but you will have immense growth as well.
Go into this New Year with a clear mind, heart and vision and watch your dreams become a reality.
Happy New Years!
